Indoor Grill Adventures

Indoor grills are all the rage now. There are so many kinds of indoor grills to choose from. There are those open indoor grills that look basically like the usual grill because it has only one cooking surface. This is ordinary because there is another more special type of electric indoor grill made famous by those George Foreman indoor grills you see so much in television nowadays. These are named the folding contact indoor electric grills. These types of grills come in different shapes and sizes.

The most prominent feature of these grills is the fact that it folds around the food or meat you are cooking. It is similar to those waffle irons that you have in the house. They cook two sides at the same time thus making it twice as fast as the ordinary one sided open indoor electric grill.

However, no matter what, indoor grills are all basically the same. They all have this grid in their cooking iron in order to imitate those stripe grill marks on the side of food that you put on the old style grill. They all operate using electricity instead of the messing and smoke producing charcoal or gas burners that are all fire hazards and are mostly too bulky to be put in a lot of kitchens. This is most true especially if you happen to live in an apartment.

However, if you think that an indoor grill is not as adventurous as the big old backyard style barbecue grill that needs fire and fodder, then think again. A lot of indoor grills are small, but there are also those that are large. Large enough to accommodate the monstrous appetite of a really big family, the kind that loves to do barbecues every now and again. Except that the fun part with indoor grills is that they can be used every night. An outdoor barbecue cannot top that feature no matter how advanced its design is made because it still basically operates using charcoal and it is still illegal to use inside the house.

I remember an indoor grill adventure we had last time when there was no longer any charcoal left in the nearest supermarket and there was not enough time to go out and buy anymore. We simply hauled out our large trusty open indoor grill that we used for cooking our regular dinners. The guests didn’t even seem to notice the difference. It all tasted quite like it was cooked in the barbecue grill. We just spiced it up and continually brushed some of the marinade on the meat to keep it juicy and it all cooked in no time at all.
